"Lost" star Maggie Grace is to join Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz in new film "Wichita".

Grace, who played the role of island castaway Shannon in hit ABC show "Lost", has
signed up for the spy thriller, which will be directed by James Mangold.

The story is centred around a lonely woman, played by Diaz, who goes on a seemingly-
harmless blind date that turns her life upside down when a super-spy, played by
Cruise, takes her on a violent journey around the world.

They have to protect a powerful battery that holds the key to an infinite power source.

Grace will reportedly be playing the role of Diaz's sister, who is getting married and is
excited that Diaz will take the place of their late dad and will walk her down the aisle.

Grace who is now no stranger to spy thriller films after the success of “Taken” with
Liam Neeson, has been working on multiple other projects. One film, coming at a time
with lots of hype around the new Alice in Wonderland from Tim Burton, is titled “Malice
in Wonderland.” It’s a darker, modern take on being a stranger in a strange world when
Alice (Grace) comes down with amnesia after being hit by a taxi and find herself in an
unfamiliar land.

Grace has also been working on “The Experiment,” co-staring Cam Gigandet (Twilight),
Adrien Brody and Forest Whitaker. And her latest project “Flying Lessons” staring Cary
Elwes.

Word is that Camero Diaz is skipping the usual hotel stint at the posh Mandarin
Oriental and Ritz-Carlton and renting out a luxury condo at 91 Beacon Street for three
months beginning in September.

Also, crews are currently hashing out an elaborate water-based chase scene slotted to
be shot on the Charles River and will involve closing down several landmarks along the
way including a bridge or two.

The soon-to-be-renamed "Wichita," currently in pre-production and scheduled to begin
filming in October, will be helmed by celebrated director James Mangold. Cruise will
play a secret agent who pops in and out of the life of single woman played by Diaz.

Both Cruise and Diaz, teaming up together for the first time since "Vanilla Sky,"
reportedly have given a thumbs up to the final script, which recently underwent a
rewrite by Scott Frank known for his work on "Minority Report."

"Wichita" will be the second made-in-Boston film for Diaz. The beauty stars as Norma
Lewis in "The Box," slotted for release on Friday, Oct. 30. Directed by "Donnie Darko"
filmmaker Richard Kelly, the thriller centers around a suburban couple with a young
child who receive a simple wooden box as a gift, which bears fatal and irrevocable
consequences.
