Watertown native Eliza Dushku and Ben Barnes, known for his role as Prince
Caspian in "The Chronicles of Narnia," have been spotted filming scenes for the
psychological thriller "Valediction" at Malden Memorial Hospital on Friday, June 19.
According to a Boston spy, crews have transformed the old hospital with
Christmas decorations. Other cast members from the film, including Ben Barnes
from "Chronicles of Narnia," were filming scenes with the daughter who is
hospitalized after a tragic car accident.
"I was so curious what the LIF signs were then I just went up to a crew member
and asked," reports Jonna from Medford, adding that Mel Gibson filmed scenes
for "Edge of Darkness" at the same hospital. "It's nice having actors/actresses in
your own backyard."
In the film, Dushku plays Barnes' lover who finds himself fighting for his
daughter's life. It turns out that the pieces of the puzzle that will save her lead
him to discover it's actually his life that he's fighting for.
Last week, crews transformed Whiskey Park into a holiday scene on Tuesday,
June 9 and Wednesday, June 10.
