Ted starring Mark Wahlberg and Mila Kunis begins filming this week in Norwood. This
film is about a man and his teddy bear, who comes to life as the result of a childhood
wish.
Albemarle Road in Norwood is about to become a set for Boston natives Mark Wahlberg’
s movie "Ted," according to a resident who received a flyer notifying her that filming
will take place on Tuesday, Feb. 22 and Wednesday, Feb. 23 at 129 Albemarle Road
from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Debbie Spingarn, of Albemarle Road, said she received the flyer Thursday morning.
According to the flyer, Mark Wahlberg will not be on the set for filming, Spingarn said.
The film website IMDB lists Seth MacFarlane, creator of the TV show "Family Guy," as
the director.
Town Manager John Carroll said the road would not be closed during filming.
The filming will take place outside on the front lawns of about five or six houses, which
have been decorated with lights and snow, creating a Christmas scene, Carroll said.
The street was chosen for filming, Carroll said, because the homes on the road are
split-levels, something the film crew was looking for, and the road is wide and straight
and the terrain is flat.
“This will have a positive affect for Norwood,” said Carroll, as residents will be pleased
to see their town in a movie.
The film crew said that 129 Albemarle was up for sale and that no one lived there at
the moment, Spingarn said.
