Anne Hathaway, who has studied at Vassar and New York universities, will get schooled at Harvard later this month. A perennial favorite on the Delta 99, she has often made the top ten most desirable but never took our top prize. Now the Oscar-nominated actress can add another honour to her list: the Hasty Pudding Woman of the Year award presented annually by Harvard University’s budding thespians.
She'll be the subject of a roast and lead a high-spirited parade on January 28 by the Hasty Pudding Theatricals, the undergraduate drama club and nation’s oldest undergraduate drama troupe. Hasty Pudding honours performers who have made a "lasting and impressive contribution" to entertainment. In recent years, Renee Zellweger, Charlize Theron, Scarlett Johansson and Halle Berry have reigned over Harvard Square.
Hathaway made her name as a teen in The Princess Diaries, and has since showed her range in comedies like "Get Smart" and going topless in dramas such as "Brokeback Mountain" and "Havoc". She was nominated for an Academy Award in 2009 for Rachel Getting Married and will star in "Valentine's Day" and "Alice in Wonderland" this year.
